Our Story
Rudder.com was founded in 2025 in Austin, Texas by Aaron Farmer with one clear idea — to bring alumni, students, and supporters of your university community together with trusted companies and service providers who understand you.
Rudder.com unites your university network with like-minded businesses in real estate, insurance, finance, jobs, and more. We help you find people who “get” you and your school and want to work with others who share the same community, values, and pride.
We drive traffic, leads, and new business to our member providers by being active and visible at the places where your school spirit is real — alumni meetings, happy hours, tailgates, watch parties, community events, and anywhere large groups from your university gather. Our on-the-ground Rudder.com reps meet people face-to-face, build goodwill, and naturally grow our user base.

Our Team
Aaron Farmer
Founder/President
Aaron Farmer is a veteran real estate entrepreneur who has spent three decades building companies, challenging industry norms, and shaping the future of how consumers connect with trusted service providers.
He began his career in 1995 after earning a Marketing degree in College Station. After working as a REALTOR® across Texas, he moved to Austin and launched multiple brokerages, ultimately founding Rudder Realty, Inc. in 2016.
Aaron became nationally recognized after successfully challenging anti-competitive real estate rules in 2002—a fight that led to Congressional testimony and media coverage in outlets such as The Wall Street Journal, USA Today, and NPR. He later served in top leadership roles within the Austin Board of REALTORS®, including being elected President in 2016.
But the insight that changed everything came earlier, during years of working face-to-face with clients:
His strongest relationships—and best business—always came from people who shared his university community.
That affinity drove deeper trust, higher engagement, and long-lasting connections. Aaron realized this wasn't a coincidence. It was a blueprint.
Rudder.com was created to harness the power of those connections—bringing alumni, supporters, and vetted businesses together in a way that drives real value, real community, and real opportunity.
Aaron's passion for service extends beyond business, with years spent coaching youth sports, volunteering in local schools, and serving on community advisory boards.
